Adolph Schütte von Warensberg (Lieutenant Field Marshal, 1777)
Adolph Schütte von Warensberg , also Adolf Schütte von Warensberg , (baptized November 24, 1777 in Münster , Westphalia , Holy Roman Empire ; † April 22, 1859 in Vienna , Austrian Empire ) was an Austrian lieutenant field marshal and fortress commander of Timisoara .
Life
Adolph Schütte entered the Austrian military service as a cadet on December 20, 1799 , in the Imperial and Royal Infantry Regiment "Kaiser" No. 1 , and became an ensign on September 1, 1800 , in the following years, during which he was active in the conscription and as a battalion adjutant , under- and lieutenant and in 1813 captain . In 1837 he was Major in Infantry Regiment No. 12 , then Count Rothkirch, in May 1839 Lieutenant Colonel in the 21st Regiment (Freiherr von Paumgarten) and on November 1, 1840, Colonel and Commander of the Infantry Regiment Count Mazuchelli No. 10 In 1848 Schütte became major general in Bohemia and at the end of the same year Lieutenant Field Marshal . In 1849 he became fortress commander in Timisoara , in 1850 city and fortress commander in Prague , later in Königgrätz and again in Prague. In 1856 he retired. He spent the time of his retirement in Vienna.
Butcher
In the various battles and skirmishes of the campaigns in 1800, 1805 and 1809 against France , Schütte served as a captain. In this capacity he also took part in the expedition against Naples in 1821 and garrisoned during the occupation of this kingdom in the capital of Sicily Palermo . When the revolution broke out in Prague on June 12, 1848 and barricades were erected, General Schütte led the attack on them. With a grenadier battalion, two battalions of the Polish Graf Hohenegg Infantry Regiment and half a squadron of Uhlans , he took eight barricades, which were flanked by several side barricades. In this way he managed to occupy the Laurenziberg and to rule the capital of Bohemia militarily.
