Anton Alexander Ignatius von Kaweczinski (also: Kaweczynski , born July 11, 1785 in Schwarzenau , † February 10, 1867 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Alexander was the son of Mr. Ignatius von Kaweczinski on Schwarzenau and his wife Marianne, née von Sokolowska.

Military career

Kaweczinski visited the cadet houses in Kulm and Berlin . Subsequently, it was on April 7, 1800, when Corporal Corporal in the Fusilier Battalion "Stutterheim" the Prussian Army hired and May 1, 1800, when Portepeefähnrich put in a second Ostpreußische Füsilierbrigade. During the Wars of Liberation , Kaweczinski acquired the Iron Cross 2nd class for the battle near Luckau . He also fought at Hoyerswerda , received the Iron Cross First Class for Dennewitz and the Order of St. Vladimir IV Class for Leipzig . In 1815 Kaweczinski fought in the battles at Ligny and Belle Alliance . He was also at the sieges of Magdeburg , Wittenberg , Gorkum , Maubeuge , Philippeville and Rocroi . At that time he came first on 23 August 1813 as an adjutant in the 3rd Infantry Brigade of III. Army Corps, where Kaweczinski was promoted to staff captain on November 23, 1813 . With his promotion to captain on March 20, 1814, he was appointed company commander in the 3rd East Prussian Infantry Regiment and commanded as battalion leader of III. Battalion in the 5th Westphalian Landwehr Infantry Regiment. On August 25, 1815, he became a major in the 8th Westphalian Landwehr Infantry Regiment. This was followed by a use in the 1st Cologne Landwehr Regiment from July 25, 1816. Here Kaweczinski served first as commander of the 1st, later the 2nd battalion. On March 16, 1820 he became the commander of the 2nd Battalion in the 28th Landwehr Regiment in Brühl . On March 26, 1828 he was commander of the Fusilier Battalion in the 17th Infantry Regiment and promoted in this position on March 30, 1830 with a patent from April 8, 1830 to lieutenant colonel. He was commissioned on March 30, 1831 with the leadership of the 14th Infantry Regiment and appointed Kaweczinski on February 18, 1832 regimental commander. On February 9, 1840, he was appointed in command of the Silberberg Fortress and on February 17, aggregated to the 14th Infantry Regiment, and on March 30, 1840, promoted to major general. Under awarding of the character as a lieutenant general Kaweczinski was on March 5, 1846 an annual pension of 2,100 dollars for disposition made. On August 3, 1858 he was then senior of the Iron Cross, 2nd class.

He died on February 10, 1867 in Berlin and was buried on February 13, 1867 from the Invalidenfriedhof.

family

Kaweczinski married Maria Anna Christiane Luise von Schelwer on March 28, 1815 in Münster (* August 26, 1792; † November 8, 1870). She was also buried in the Invalidenfriedhof . The couple had two sons, including Alexander (* 1816), who retired from the army in 1841 as a porter ensign.
