Andreas Gebhard (born May 24, 1975 in Cologne-Ehrenfeld ) is a German entrepreneur. From 1999 to 2000 he was national spokesman for the Green Youth and is co-founder and managing director of several companies, such as newthinking communications GmbH and re: publica GmbH.

Career

After completing his school career in 1994 with the Abitur at the Thusneldastraße grammar school in Cologne-Deutz, he looked after people in need as part of his community service with a mobile social aid service and began his political engagement with the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party .

From 1994 to 1999 he was a member of the municipality council of Rösrath. In 1994 he also took part in the founding of the Green Youth Association and was elected spokesman for the Green Alternative Youth Association in 1998. Until 2000, Andreas Gebhard took on various roles and positions within the Green Youth and Alliance 90 / The Greens.

In 2001 he moved to Berlin and turned to free software . a. for several years the press spokesman for LinuxTag . In 2003, the open source agency newthinking communications was founded jointly with Markus Beckedahl, and in 2004 the first free software specialist shop, the newthinking store, in Berlin. He was the managing director of both companies. However, the newthinking store was closed in 2011 for financial reasons.

Together with Markus Beckedahl, Tanja Haeusler and Johnny Haeusler , he founded re: publica in 2007. The conference, which has taken place annually since then, deals with the topics of Web 2.0 and the digital society. Andreas Gebhard has been managing director of re: publica GmbH since 2012.

In 2015 he gave up the management of newthinking to devote himself to his new project, Creator Broker Owner GmbH, with which he supports young artists, ideas, projects and start-ups in their development phase.

Others

In summer 2009 Andreas Gebhard was one of the founding members of all2gethernow e. V. The aim of the association is to create a new platform for exchange for Berlin's culture and media scene. Andreas Gebhard was on the first board member.

Alongside Markus Beckedahl, Falk Steiner, Matthias Mehldau, Andre Meister , Markus Reuter, Benjamin von der Ahe and Rüdiger Weis, Andreas Gebhard is one of the founding members of the Digitale Gesellschaft e. V .

Andreas Gebhard has also been a member of the Creative Industries committee at the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2012 .

He is also a member and, since 2019, Deputy Chairman of the Foundation Council of Stiftung Zukunft Berlin .
