Moritz Heuberger

Moritz Heuberger (born February 11, 1991 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a German politician and was the spokesman for the Green Youth , the youth organization of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , from 2015 to 2017 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 2010 at the Hellenstein-Gymnasium in Heidenheim an der Brenz, Heuberger studied political and administrative science at the University of Konstanz , the University of Potsdam and the Sorbonne in Paris.

Political party

Heuberger was spokesman for the Green Youth Heidenheim from 2008 to 2010 and press spokesman for the State Board of the Green Youth Baden-Württemberg from 2013 to 2014. From 2011 to 2012 , Heuberger was a member of the student parliament and the AStA at the University of Konstanz . He has been a member of the federal board of the Green Youth since 2014, initially as international secretary. On October 31, Heuberger was elected spokesman for the federal association at the 45th Federal Congress and held this office until October 28, 2017.

His focus areas include Europe, social and economic policy and environmental policy.

Political positions

Heuberger criticized the policy of the Green Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann several times. He calls for a demarcation from the CDU and more criticism of the federal government. He repeatedly called on his own party to profile itself as an opponent of right-wing populism with a left-wing course.

Foreign and European policy

In asylum policy, he positioned himself against the EU-Turkey deal and against an upper limit. Heuberger called on Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen to show solidarity towards refugees. He criticizes the European Union's austerity policy in southern Europe. After Brexit , Heuberger was one of the first to call for the creation of Union citizenship independent of nationality and thus the issue of European passports to British citizens who wish to remain part of the Union.

Environment, climate and agricultural policy

Heuberger suggested converting all agriculture to ecological agriculture and thus making it the standard.

Economic and social policy

In the debate on social inequality, Heuberger advocated the reintroduction of the wealth tax. At the party congress in Münster in 2016, he called for a clear taxation of assets and an increase in inheritance tax.
