Gesine Agena
Gesine Agena (born July 17, 1987 in Norden ) is a German politician . From 2013 to 2019 she was the women's policy spokesperson for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and a member of the federal executive board, and from 2018 to 2019 as deputy chairwoman. Until 2011 she was the spokesperson for the Green Youth , the youth organization of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen, and from 2012-2013 in the Federal Party Council of the Greens.
Life
Gesine Agena grew up on an organic farm. Your mother is a teacher. Agena lived in Barcelona for a year during school . After graduating from high school in 2007, she completed internships in the federal office of the Green Youth and with Thilo Hoppe in the German Bundestag . She has been studying political science and sociology at the University of Potsdam since October 2008 . In the summer of 2012, she completed her bachelor's degree, followed by her master's degree in political science at the University of Potsdam in 2015.
In January 2018 she became the mother of a daughter.

Agena has been a member of the Green Youth since September 2005. In October 2008 she was elected as a member of the federal board of the Green Youth. On October 18, 2009, she prevailed against Sophia Reintke (who had also been a member of the federal association until then) at the Federal Congress of Green Youth in Weimar . On October 23, 2010 she was confirmed in office with 83% of the votes. In 2011 she did not run again. Her successor in office was Sina Doughan . In addition to nuclear policy, her focus is on climate policy, advocating “radical ecological issues”, women's policy and gender equality. In addition, she deals intensively with educational policy, "civil rights" and advocates a basic income . At the special party congress of the Greens on the party's possible approval of the CDU / CSU and FDP's nuclear phase-out in 2011, she took an oppositional view of the party leadership. Gesine Agena's speech at the special party conference was reported several times. Agena belongs to the left wing of the party and is a member of the coordinating team of “Green.links.think”.
Within her party, Agena initiated a call for the quotation of top green candidates for the 2013 federal election in 2012, which she drafted with other female party members. From the perspective of the Green Party, Agena wrote a contribution to the # outcry debate in early 2013 , in which she spoke out against sexism in politics.
In 2012 she was elected to the executive committee (comparable to the district board) of the district association Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Berlin-Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.
In November 2012, Agena was elected to the party council of the federal party. The entire party council resigned after the 2013 federal election . On October 19, 2013, Agena was elected to the federal executive committee and as spokesperson for women's affairs for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen.
Agena is a founding member of the Solidarity Modern Institute .
