Max Lucks

Max Lucks (born April 19, 1997 in Gelsenkirchen-Ückendorf ) is a German politician and was spokesman for the Green Youth , the youth organization of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , from October 2017 to November 2019 .

Life

After graduating from the Märkische Schule in Bochum-Wattenscheid in 2015 , Lucks began studying social science at the Ruhr University in Bochum in 2016 .

politics

Lucks has been a member of the Green Youth since 2011 and of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 2013. From 2014 to 2015 he was an assessor in the federal executive committee of the Green Youth and at the same time an assessor in the district executive committee of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Bochum. From 2015 to 2017, Lucks was the spokesman for the Green Youth Regional Association of North Rhine-Westphalia and has been a delegate for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen NRW to the Congress of the European Green Party and to the Länderrat, the small federal party conference of his party, since 2017 . At the 49th Federal Green Youth Congress in Dortmund in October 2017, he and Ricarda Lang were elected national spokesman for the Green Youth. He succeeds the Berliner Moritz Heuberger , who did not run again.

His focus is on labor market policy and human rights policy. Lucks is particularly committed to the rights of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and "trans * people" (LGBT *). In June 2016, accompanied by MEP Terry Reintke , he was provisionally arrested during Istanbul Pride together with the former federal spokesman for the Green Youth, Felix Banaszak . He is assigned to the left wing of his party. In January 2020, Lucks announced his candidacy for the Bundestag. In February, the Green Youth in North Rhine-Westphalia decided to support him together with Nyke Slawik in the party-internal process.
