Emily May Büning (born May 13, 1985 in Hamburg ) is a German politician, former spokeswoman for the Green Youth , the youth organization of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and current Organizational Director of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen.

Life

Büning completed her Abitur in 2004 at the Kaiser-Friedrich-Ufer secondary school , where she was awarded the Hans-Henny-Jahnn Prize for special commitment. She then studied law with a focus on international and European law at the Bucerius Law School in Hamburg until 2009 and spent a trimester abroad at the Autonomous University of Madrid . Büning was a scholarship holder of the Heinrich Böll Foundation . After her legal clerkship, she passed the second state examination in 2012 . From 2005 to 2006 she was chairwoman of the Model United Nation Society in Hamburg . From 2010 to 2011 she was the spokesperson for the German National Committee for International Youth Work .

Professionally, Büning has been the Federal Organizational Director of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since August 1, 2012 , which was previously decided unanimously by the Federal Executive Committee on July 23, 2012. In this function, she succeeded Dorothea Staiger , who was the federal organizational manager for 21 years.

politics

Büning has been a member of the Green Youth since 2004 and was state chairman in Hamburg from 2005 to 2006. From 2006 to 2008 she was a member of the Federal Committee Presidium. From autumn 2009 to 2010 she was the political director of the Federal Association of Green Youth. At the same time she was the GJ delegate for the state council of the mother party. On October 23, 2010, she was elected spokeswoman for the federal association by the general assembly with 76 percent in the open space, replacing Max Löffler , who did not run again. In 2011 she did not run again.

Since 2005 she has also been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , since 2009 with the Young European Federalists and was a member of the Hamburg State Executive Committee there in 2009.

In 2009 Emily Büning was one of two German youth delegates to the General Assembly of the United Nations .

Büning is a founding member of the Solidarity Modern Institute .
