Manuela Rottmann
Manuela Rottmann (born May 9, 1972 in Würzburg ) is a German lawyer and politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). She has been a member of the Bundestag since the 2017 federal election .
Life
After primary school in Eßleben , the daughter of a police officer attended grammar schools in Schweinfurt , Würzburg and Hammelburg and passed the Abitur in 1991 at Frobenius grammar school in Hammelburg. From 1991 to 1998 she studied political science, sociology, economics and law at the University of Würzburg , in Frankfurt am Main and in Aix-en-Provence . In 1998 she finished her studies with the first state examination in law in Frankfurt am Main. From 1998 to 2004 she was a research assistant at the Institute for Public Law at the University of Frankfurt am Main . In 2004 she passed the Second State Examination in Hesse . In 2006, with a thesis supervised by Georg Hermes in Frankfurt, she became Dr. jur. PhD. From 2004 to 2006 she was a research assistant at the German Institute for Urban Studies in Berlin . From 2012 to March 2017 she worked as a legal advisor for DB Netz AG .
Manuela Rottmann is divorced and has a son.
politics
Rottmann joined the Bavarian Greens as a student in 1991. She gained her first political experience with the referendum The Better Garbage Concept . From 1995 to 1996 she was the Federal Board Spokeswoman for the Green-Alternative Youth Alliance (GAJB) . From 1999 to 2001 she was spokeswoman for the district board of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Frankfurt am Main.
In the 2002 elections , she was direct candidate in the constituency Frankfurt I .
From 2006 to 2012, Rottmann was a full-time department head for the environment, health (from 2011 also for personnel) in the municipal authorities of Frankfurt am Main.
In the federal election on September 24, 2017 , she was elected to the list of the Bavarian Greens as a member of the German Bundestag . Here she is the chair of her group in the Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection . She is also a member of the electoral review committee and a deputy member of the petitions committee and the health committee .
From 2017 to 2019 she was district chairwoman of the Greens in Lower Franconia. In the Bavarian local elections, she ran as district administrator in the Bad Kissingen district. Rottmann received 24.1 percent of the vote and ended up in second place behind incumbent Thomas Bold (CSU). She has been a member of the Bad Kissingen district council since the 2020 local elections.
Rottmann is a member of the non-partisan European Union Germany , which advocates a federal Europe and the European unification process.
