Andreas Mäckler (born October 11, 1958 in Karlsruhe ) is a German art historian , author and biographer .

Live and act

Mäckler laid in 1978 at the Waldorf School in Kassel , the High School and studied 1981-1985 art history , modern German literature and history at the University of Marburg . In 1989 he received his doctorate there with Wolfgang Kemp with a dissertation on color theory and painting practice in anthroposophy . From 1989 to 1992 Mäckler worked first as a trainee and then as a lecturer at the art book publisher Schirmer / Mosel in Munich.

Between 1987 and 1989 Mäckler published three thematic collections of quotations at DuMont , which were reprinted several times. In 1990 he published a collection of interviews with anthroposophically oriented painters and art historians such as Diether Rudloff in the same publishing house, which he prefaced with an introduction to the history of anthroposophical painting. He also had several conversations with Gottfried Helnwein , which was published by C. H. Beck in 1992 under the title Painting Must Be Like Rock Music. Also in 1992, he published his dissertation as a book under the title Light-Open Colors . From 1992 he worked as a freelance journalist and author specializing in film, art and cultural travel guides. He has written numerous short thrillers that have been published in the rainbow press and in anthologies .

From the year 2000 he put his focus on the establishment of service companies for self-publications and order biographies, in which he himself was and still is active in various fields.

Andreas Mäckler lives in Kaufering .

Award

Paul Dierichs Prize for exemplary commitment in the social field: On the initiative of his classmate Antje Siebrecht (1958–2013), Andreas Mäckler and other students sold the soil of the “ vertical earth kilometer ” by the American artist Walter De Maria for during the documenta 6 art exhibition in 1977 social purposes.
