Anna Cambiaghi (born September 15, 1951 in Milan ) is a former Italian racing driver .
Career as a racing driver
Anna Cambiaghi began her career in rallying in the 1970s . Her first car was a Fiat 124 Rallye , with which she competed in the 1973 Italian rally championship . The first international event in which she took part was the Tour de France for automobiles in 1974 , where she and co-driver Francesca Lurani in an Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV finished 37th in the overall standings. She competed five times in the World Rally Championship and drove sports car races in parallel to the rallies .
At the beginning of the 1980s, she drove two seasons in the Italian Formula 3 Championship and together with Lella Lombardi for Jolly Club in the European Touring Car Championship . The best place was the third final place at the 500 km race in Donington in 1981 on a Chevrolet Camaro (winner Umberto Grano and Helmut Kelleners in a BMW 63 CSi ). Her one-off appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans ended in 1977 with an engine failure on the Osella PA5 .
Anna Cambiaghi drove intermittently until 1989. She had her last race start at the Rallye Safari in 1989 . After her active career, she worked for many years in the organization of various racing teams.
