Antonio Martino

Antonio Martino (born December 22, 1942 in Messina ) is an Italian politician of the Popolo della Libertà .

Life

Antonio Martino, son of the future Foreign Minister and President of the European Parliament (1962–1964) Gaetano Martino , studied law and graduated in 1965. From 1992 to 2002 he was professor of 'Economia politica' at the LUISS University in Rome .

Martino was one of the founders of Forza Italia and was elected to the House of Representatives in March 1994 . He was foreign minister in the Berlusconi I cabinet and was re-elected as a member of parliament in 1996 and 2001 . From 2001 to 2006 ( Berlusconi Cabinet II and III ) he was Minister of Defense .
