• Vicente Blasco Ibáñez : The Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1916), novel about the First World War
• Terry Pratchett : In A Good Omen (with Neil Gaiman ) the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse play an important role. However , after the invention of penicillin , the plague was replaced by pollution . In the novels of the Discworld , too , the riders occasionally appear; Death in particular is now a main character. In Der Zeitdieb , however, a fifth apocalyptic rider - Kaos - is introduced, who works as a milkman under the name Ronnie Soak.
• David Safier : In Jesus Loves Me (2008), characters from the novel are turned into apocalyptic riders by Satan on the day of judgment .
• Chelsea Quinn Yarbro : Time of the Fourth Horseman (German: The fourth apocalyptic rider) (1976)

Computer games

• World of Warcraft : The Four Horsemen . The players are confronted in a boss fight with the four of the most powerful death knights of the Lich King, who are supposed to prevent the players from getting to the majordomo of the Lich King, the Erzur Kel'Thuzad. (2006 and 2008)
• Guild Wars : The Four Horsemen . In the quest The Four Riders in the Underworld, the players are involved in a fight that is of high difficulty. (2004)
• In the universe of the Darksiders franchise, the four tabs exist in the form of war , death , rage and conflict . They represent the last survivors of the universe's own interpretation of Nephilim and are the playable protagonists of the offshoots that have appeared ( War in Darksiders , Death in Darksiders 2 , Rage in Darksiders 3 and War and Strife in Darksiders Genesis ).
• Apocalypse : You play the character Trey Kincaid, played by Bruce Willis, and fight against four modern versions of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse
• Witches II : Computer game by Raven Software . The bosses of the first four chapters are based on the four horsemen of the apocalypse. (1997)
• Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare : The four horses "mythical creatures": war, plague, hunger and death. The horses of the apocalypse.
• Tom Clancy's The Division : In the download expansion "Underground", players compete against the Horsemen of the Apocalypse in a fire-breathing fire truck. The Horsemen of the Apocalypse are the four hottest soldiers trying to stop a virus outbreak.
• In the game series The Sims , from the first version, death personified as the Grim Reaper plays a role as the guide of all the dying into the afterlife. Starting with the Simply Animal expansion of the base game The Sims 3 , death comes on horseback and becomes the apocalyptic rider. Players can negotiate with death for the lives of loved ones by challenging and defeating it at chess.
• The Binding of Isaac : The Apocalyptic Horsemen ("Hunger", "Pestilence", "War", "Death" and "Conquest") appear as (intermediate) bosses in the game. In the sequel, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth , the Horsemen of the Apocalypse reappear.

• François Craenhals : Roland, Ritter Ungestüm (Chevalier Ardent) : Vol. 12; The Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Les Cavaliers de l'Apocalypse) : The Ride of the Apocalyptic Horsemen is the dramaturgical climax of this story, the knight Roland ends when he confesses his love to Gwendoline.
• The perpetrator term The four tabs of the infocalypse for cybercriminals was created in allusion to this term.
