Arp 102 is the name of an interacting galaxy pair in the constellation Hercules , which consists of a spiral galaxy and an elliptical galaxy and is cataloged together as Arp 102 . Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of elliptical galaxies connected to spirals .
