NGC 3561 is a lenticular galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major . The galaxy interacts with the spiral galaxy NGC 3561A and forms the galaxy pair Arp 105 . The system is about 392 million light years from the Milky Way. Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of elliptical galaxies associated with spirals (Arp catalog) .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on March 30, 1827 .
