IC 4462 is the name of a bar-spiral galaxy in the constellation Bootes . The galaxy has an interactive relationship with the lenticular galaxy PGC 52123 and is cataloged with it as Arp 95 . Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class Spiral galaxies with an elliptical companion on one arm Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies # Spiral galaxies with an elliptical companion on one arm (92-101) (Arp catalog).
IC 4461 was discovered on June 22, 1895 by the astronomer Stéphane Javelle .
