Assan Torrez Ceesay (born March 17, 1994 in Banjul ) is a Gambian football player . The striker stands as the Players out on loan FC Zurich in Germany at VfL Osnabrueck under contract and is Gambian national team.
Career
society
Nothing is known about Ceesay's junior years. At the age of 20 he moved from Gamtel FC in the Gambian capital Banjul to Senegal to Casa Sports and played for the club for two years. In the summer of 2016 he was signed by the Swiss first division club FC Lugano , in whose fifth division team he was used. After twelve goals in twelve league games, he was promoted to the first team in the 2016/17 season . The Gambier came to twelve first division and two cup games and was able to contribute two goals and assists.
A one-year loan to the Challenge League for FC Chiasso followed in the summer of 2017 . Ceesay ran as a regular in 31 league games, scored eight times and prepared six more goals, he was also twice active in the Cup. With Chiasso, the Gambier was eighth at the end of the season. After six more appearances for Lugano, the attacker was sold to league competitor FC Zurich in September 2018 , with whom he tied until June 2022. With the club Ceesay failed in the semifinals of the national cup at FC Basel and in the intermediate round of the Europa League at SSC Napoli and ended the season with him in 7th place; the player scored three times in 22 games.
After only one goal in 15 other competitive games, Ceesay was awarded to VfL Osnabrück at the end of January 2020 until the end of the second division season in Germany .
National team
After playing for the youth teams in his home country, Ceesay has been a member of the Gambia's senior national team since 2015 . With her he is currently participating in the qualification for the Africa Cup 2021 , after having already missed participation with the team twice.
