Błażej Radler (born August 2, 1982 in Rydułtowy ) is a Polish football player on the position of a defender who is mainly used as a central defender .

Club career

Career start at Rymer Niedobczyce

Radler began his active career as a football player in the youth division of Rymer Niedobczyce from the Rybnik district of Niedobczyce . After he was accepted into the men's team of the lower-class amateur club in 1998, he spent more than two years of his short career there. In 2000 he left the club from southern Poland to the nearby city of Zabrze , where he signed a contract with Górnik Zabrze . He made his competitive debut for the professional team on November 25, 2000 in the four-round game of the Polish Football Cup of the 2000/01 season in a 2-0 away win over MKP Pogoń Siedlce . Radler was in action for the entire duration of the game.

The trained central defender finally made his professional league debut on March 10, 2001 in a 2-0 home win over Śląsk Wrocław in the 16th round of the current championship. He was in action for the full duration of the game and scored the goal in minute 61 to make it 2-0. Another eight championship appearances followed in the 2000/01 season , in which he and the team only just got past relegation or relegation. In addition, there were also other appearances in the Polish Cup competition, where he made it to the final with the team and was defeated very tightly against Polonia Warsaw with a total score of 3: 4 from the first and second leg . Radler was used as a substitute in both finals. The committed central defender made only eight league appearances in the 2001/02 season , in which the team had to prove their skills in relegation, but remained in Poland's first class due to solid performances.

Classification in the middle of the table and change on loan

In the 2002/03 season, the performance of the entire team increased, with one advancing to seventh place in the final table. Radler made 17 championship appearances in which, however, he remained goalless. In the following season , too, not much changed, Górnik Zabrze brought it back to seventh place in the final table and Radler was used in 20 league games. During the summer break, the 21-year-old moved to Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała on loan to the Polish second division before the 2004/05 season . In nearby Bielsko-Biała he became a regular player in the club's defensive chain and brought it to 25 league games in his one loan season, in which he scored twice. Furthermore, he celebrated great success with the second division side in the Polish Football Cup of the 2004/05 season , where he moved into the round of 16 with the team and was eliminated there just against Pogoń Stettin . Moving into the second round meant one of the greatest successes in the club's history for the club; Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała had never come so far in the Polish Cup. Radler made eight trophy appearances and one hit.

After a successful time at Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała, with which he narrowly missed promotion to the Ekstraklasa, he returned to his home club in Zabrze. Immediately after returning, Radler became a regular at Górnik Zabrze and made 24 appearances and one goal in the league in the 2005/06 season . At the end of the season, however, it was only enough for 14th place in the table, a place in the relegation playoff. However, since the football club Amica Wronki merged with Lech Posen at the same time , the 15th place, Arka Gdynia , took the place in the relegation playoff instead of Górnik Zabrze . Górnik Zabrze, however, stayed in Poland's first class without having played a single playoff game. But Górnik Zabrze's team quality did not improve much thanks to the lucky relegation, because in the following season 2006/07 they did not get over a 14th place in the table and thus again only just managed to stay in Poland's highest football league. This relegation was also very happy for the team, because in addition to the two poorly placed teams Wisła Płock and Pogoń Stettin, the two clubs Arka Gdynia and Górnik Łęczna had to be relegated to the second-highest division in Poland due to corruption scandals. Radler brought it his best performance so far during his time with the southern Polish club, scoring four goals in 27 completed championship games.

Moved to Odra Wodzisław and made a flying visit to Belgium

After Radler left his home club at the end of the season, he signed a contract with Odra Wodzisław , where he could not assert himself at all. Thrown back from injuries, he made only five league appearances in his first season , most of which he did not even make through the full game. In addition to the appearances in the professional team, Radler also made five league appearances for the youth team of Odra Wodzisław, which has its game operations in the Młoda Ekstraklasa (ME). The following season was also similar to the previous one. Radler was used in all of his Ekstraklasa appearances over the full length of the game, but again only made a minimum of stakes (six games). As in the previous season, the defender came again to five championship appearances in the Młoda Ekstraklasa.

During the season, Radler moved to Belgium in February 2009 , where he signed a contract with AFC Tubize . Radler got to know Belgian football for the first time in 2007 when he and his Polish compatriot and teammate Marcin Kuźba completed a trial training at RSC Anderlecht . Both were not accepted, however, and Kuźba ended his active career as a football player at the age of 29. Radler finally made his debut for Tubize on February 14, 2009, when he came on the pitch for Jason Vandelanoitte in the 4-0 away defeat by Standard Liège in the 66th minute of play . He then completed a further eight championship appearances for the club from the province of Walloon Brabant and was in each of his eight appearances over the full game in use. His appearances also included high defeats, such as B. a 0: 6 home defeat against SV Zulte Waregem , a 0: 4 away defeat against KFC Verbroedering Dender EH or a 1: 4 away defeat against Cercle Bruges . With such performances and the results that the team had already achieved, even Radler could not prevent the team from relegating to the EXQI-League , the second-highest division in Belgian football.

Return to Poland

After he left the club again at the end of the season, the great central defender returned to Poland, where he was offered a contract by the second division club Znicz Pruszków , which he finally accepted. At the Central Polish club, he quickly became a regular player and, after not being used in the first few rounds of the season, made 29 championship appearances and one goal by the end of the season. But during this time, Radler didn't seem to be lucky. After he was relegated with the AFC Tubize in the previous season, he had to go to the third-highest division in Polish football after the 2009/10 season with Znicz Pruszków . But even before he was used in Poland's third division, he received an offer from Odra Wodzisław , whose club management wanted to take the now 27-year-old back into the team. Although the team was relegated to the second division at the end of the 2009/10 season , Radler accepted the contract offer with thanks on July 20, 2010, thus turning away an appearance in Poland's third highest division. After the first half of the 2010/11 season, however, Radler switched back to league rivals Pogoń Szczecin . In the summer of 2012 he rose with the team in the Ekstraklasa . There he was not used in the first half of the first half of 2012/13 and played primarily in the second team in the fourth division . In December 2012, his contract was terminated prematurely by mutual agreement.

Since then, Radler has played for various, mostly lower-class clubs. His last known club was MKS 32 Radziejów , where his contract was terminated in February 2018.

National team career

With the Polish U-18 national team, Radler took part in the 2001 U-18 European Football Championship in Finland . After Spain, Belgium and Denmark were left behind in the group stage in Group B , Radler and Poland won the final 3-1 against the Czech U-18 team. Radler was one of the top performers on his team when he won the tournament.
