The Benz 8/20 PS from Benz & Cie. was a further development of the 10/20 HP and 8/18 HP models .

8/20 hp (1912-1918)

The car was equipped with a four-cylinder in-line engine with 1950 cm³ displacement, producing 20 hp (14.7 kW) at 1800 rpm. developed. The engine power was passed on to a four-speed gearbox via a leather cone clutch and from there to the rear wheels via a cardan shaft. The maximum speed was 62 km / h, the gasoline consumption 14-15 l / 100 km.

The leaf-sprung chassis with wooden spoke wheels and pneumatic tires cost  6,500, as a two-seater  8,250, as a roadster  9,150, and as a sedan  10,200.

8/20 hp (1914-1921)

In addition to the basic model, there was also a model of the same name with increased displacement. The in-line four-cylinder engine had a displacement of 2090 cm³ with a constant output of 20 hp (14.7 kW) at 1900 rpm. These cars reached a top speed of 65 km / h.
