The Benz 39/100 PS was a sporty car that was equipped with an engine that was otherwise intended for use in airships .

The car was equipped with a four cylinder in-line engine with 10,087 cc, of 100 hp (74 kW) at 1400 min -1 developed. The engine power was passed on to a four-speed gearbox via a leather cone clutch and from there to the rear wheels via a cardan shaft. The top speed was 110 km / h and the fuel consumption was 30 l / 100 km.

The vehicles were still equipped with leaf-sprung rigid axles and wooden or wire-spoke wheels. The chassis cost 23,000 marks , the runabout 26,500 marks and the sedan and landaulet 28,500 marks.
