District Office Wertheim
The Wertheim District Office was an administrative district in Baden from 1819 to 1938 . The Baden district offices were comparable in their function and size to a district .
history
The first Landamt Wertheim
The first Landamt Wertheim was founded in 1813. In the same year, the surrounding offices and district offices of Boxberg , Tauberbischofsheim and Gerlachsheim were established . The seat of the office was in Wertheim , which today belongs to the Main-Tauber district . In 1819 the first office in Wertheim was combined with the newly created second office in Wertheim to later become the district office of Wertheim.
The second land office and later district office in Wertheim
The second Landamt Wertheim was founded in 1819. In the same year, the first Landamt Wertheim and the second Landamt Wertheim were merged into a large City and Landamt Wertheim. The seat of the later district office was in Wertheim , which today belongs to the Main-Tauber district .
The Wertheim district office comprised 29 communities: Wertheim, Besteheid , Bettingen , Boxthal (today: Boxtal ), Dertingen , Dietenhan , Dörlesberg , Ebenheid , Eichel , Freudenberg , Grünenwörth (today: Grünenwört ), Höhefeld , Kembach , Lindelbach , Mondfeld , Nassig , Niclashausen (today: Niklashausen ), Oedengesäß (today: Ödengesäß ), Rauenberg , Reicholzheim , Rütschdorf , Sachsenhausen , Sonderrith (today: Sonderriet ), Steinbach , Urphar , Vockenroth (today: Vockenrot ), Waldenhausen , Wenkheim and Wessenthal (today: Wessental ).
Dissolution and reallocation of the administrative districts
The law on the redistribution of internal administration of June 30, 1936 repealed the district office Wertheim and assigned all of its communities to the district office Tauberbischofsheim. With Section 1 (3) of the Third Ordinance on the Rebuilding of the Reich of November 28, 1938 (RGBl. I, p. 1675), this administrative district was given the designation Landkreis effective January 1, 1939 .
Its communities were assigned to the Main-Tauber district in 1973.
