Konrad Joseph Clemm (born November 6, 1854 in Mannheim ; † March 11, 1930 in Lahr ; Protestant) was a lawyer and state commissioner who had been in the Baden state service since 1882 and was retired in 1919.

Konrad Clemm was the son of Carl Clemm-Lenning (* 1818; † March 26, 1887 in Heidelberg ), who worked as a chemical manufacturer and was an American citizen . His mother was Anna Ottilie, née Lenning (* 1828, † May 1901).

Konrad Clemm married Luise, née Hartweg, on May 14, 1887 (* December 3, 1865 in Pforzheim ; † October 10, 1903). She was the daughter of forester Eduard Hartweg. In his second marriage, he was married to Antonie (Toni), née Bräuninger (* 1866 in Sindelfingen ), from December 15, 1928 . There are two children from his first marriage: Kurt Karl Eduard (born September 13, 1888) and Ludwig Erhard (born August 9, 1889).

Konrad Clemm attended grammar school in Heidelberg from autumn 1868 , where he passed his Abitur in September 1874 . From the winter semester 1874/75 he studied law at the University of Heidelberg , from the summer semester 1875 to the winter semester 1875/76 at the University of Leipzig , in the summer semester 1876 at the University of Strasbourg and then again from the winter semester 1876/77 in Heidelberg, where he was in 1879 Studies with the doctorate to Dr. iur. graduated with magna cum laude .

From June 9, 1879, he became a trainee at the Heidelberg District Court and then from March 1 to October 1880 in the secretariat of the Mannheim District Court . Further stations in his training were the Heidelberg District Office , the Wertheim District Court and the Konstanz District Office . Clemm acquired Baden citizenship on July 30, 1878 as an American citizen.

On July 3, 1882, Clemm began as a trainee lawyer at the Buchen district office . From February 10, 1883 he worked as a service administrator at the Adelsheim district office, as an assistant from May 2, 1883 at the Lörrach district office , as a service administrator from June 27, 1883 at the Schopfheim district office and from November 5, 1883 again as an assistant to the district office Überlingen .

On April 9, 1884, Clemm took over the office of service administrator at the Schopfheim district office and from September 10, 1884 he worked for the Bonndorf district office. From November 5, 1884 he served as an assistant in the secretariat of the Administrative Court in Karlsruhe and from October 20, 1885 as a clerk at the Pforzheim District Office . In 1886 he took a three-month vacation to tour England and North America . From March 3, 1890, he worked in the position of senior bailiff and board member at the St. Blasien district office . In the spring, Clemm took a two-month vacation: this time his trip took him to Sardinia and Sicily .

From October 14, 1895, Clemm was the head of the district office in Wertheim and, from September 18, 1898, at the district office of Bretten . There he was appointed a secret councilor on April 11, 1902 . From July 17, 1902, he also served as the head of the Lahr district office and from March 21, 1908, the Mannheim district office . On November 14, 1913, he was privy senior civil and lecturer Council in the Ministry of the Interior and State Commissioner for the circles Mannheim, Heidelberg and Mosbach , based in Mannheim.

At his own request, Clemm was retired on August 15, 1919.

Outside employment

As a sideline, Clemm worked as a court theater commissioner in Mannheim from May 18, 1908 to January 22, 1914 . From January 13, 1914 to August 30, 1919 he was state commissioner at the stock exchange in Mannheim and after 1919 he took over the office of chairman of the Baden Blind Association and the Baden Welfare Association for Educational Cripples .
