Biblical commentary on the Old Testament

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Biblical Commentary on the Old Testament (BK.AT) is a German-language scientific commentary series on the Old Testament on which prominent scholars have been working for years. It is laid out in 24 volumes; some of them are divided into partial volumes, of which individual deliveries appear after completion . Not all volumes are available yet; some biblical books, on the other hand, have already been commented on in a new edition.

The BK.AT was founded by Martin Noth . The first deliveries appeared in 1955 in the Neukirchener Verlagsgesellschaft . After Noth's death, Siegfried Herrmann and Hans Walter Wolff took over the editing. Currently (as of 2019) the editorial board consists of Beate Ego , Friedhelm Hartenstein , Martin Rösel , Udo Rüterswörden and Bernd U. Schipper . The comment series is now published by Neukirchener Theologie , a publishing brand within Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht .
