Black Sabbath Vol. 4 is the fourth studio album by the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath .
History of origin
The actual album name would have the title of the track Snowblind should be, because this offensive but drug use ( Snow is in English slang for cocaine ) responds, the record company would refuse such a naming. Another reference to the use of cocaine can be found inside the LP. The thank you list there says “the great COKE-Cola Company” instead of “ The Coca-Cola Company ”. Geezer Butler usually performed at Volume 4 with an “Enjoy CoCaine” sticker on his bass.

Vol. 4 was the fourth success for the band. The album reached # 13 on the US Billboard charts, # 8 in England and # 14 in Germany. The album reached gold status in the USA on November 11, 1972 and platinum status in 1986 .
In 2014, the album was ranked 83 on the list the 100 best metal and hard rock albums of all time of Rolling Stone .
