Robert Paul "Bob" Breunig (born July 4, 1953 in Inglewood , California , USA ) is a former American American football player . He played as a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL) and won the Super Bowl once with the Cowboys .

Bob Breunig visited in Phoenix , Arizona , the High School . Because of his athletic achievements, he received numerous awards as a player on the local football team.

Player career

College career

Bob Breunig studied after graduating from Arizona State University , where he played linebacker college football for their football team, the Arizona State Sun Devils .

The team was located in the Western Athletic Conference and Breunig was able to win the league championship with the team in 1972 as well as in 1973. In both years the Sun Devils could also win the Fiesta Bowl . Breunig, who temporarily served as the team captain of the team from Arizona, played in several selection games and was named All-American in 1974 together with his teammate Mike Haynes .

Professional career

Robert Breunig was selected in the 1975 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys supervised by Tom Landry in the third round in 70th place. He was used by defensive coordinator Ernie Stautner in the defense as a substitute on the position of linebacker. This game was followed by a 27:10 win over the Denver Broncos , in Super Bowl XII, with which the Cowboys celebrated their second Super Bowl.

Bob Breunig played for the Dallas team until 1984 and then retired.

Honors

Bob Breunig was elected all-pro four times , played three times in the Pro Bowl, and is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and his college's hall of fame .

After the career

The socially committed Robert Breunig became a successful businessman after his career. Until the sale of his company in 2008, he worked in the real estate business.
