As a rookie , he was able to establish himself as a starter .

In the 1966 season, the Cowboys succeeded in signing Ernie Stautner . The former defensive tackle and Pro Bowl player of the Pittsburgh Steelers looked after the defense of the Cowboys until 1988 . The efforts of Landry and Tex Schramm , the general manager of the Cowboys, to gradually strengthen their team, showed their first success this year. Jordan was able to move into the play-offs for the first time with his team , where they were eliminated early against the Green Bay Packers with 34:27. In 1967 they moved into the finals again. In the Ice Bowl they were again subject to the Packers, this time with 21:17. After the 1970 season, Jordan was able to move into the Super Bowl for the first time with the Cowboys . In Super Bowl V , however, the Baltimore Colts were able to prevail with 16:13. The following year, the Cowboys won Super Bowl VI against the Miami Dolphins 24-3 . After the 1975 season, Jordan was able to move into the Super Bowl for the third time. However, his team could not prevail against the Pittsburgh Steelers and lost in Super Bowl X with 21:17. After another year playing with the Texas team , Jordan ended his career in 1976.

Jordan played for the Cowboys for fourteen years. He and his team made it into the play-offs ten times, including three times to the Super Bowl, and is still on the best list of the Dallas team with numerous individual records.
