Bramstedt is located in the eastern part of the city of Bassum, five kilometers northeast of the core town of Bassum. Bramstedt includes Klein Bramstedt, Groß Bramstedt, Bünte and Röllinghausen.

history
The first official document about the existence of the place comes from the year 1189 . Bramstedt is one of the oldest settlements in the local district. The place got its name from the Bram (= sheep gorse ), which grew next to coniferous forest and heather on the higher places - in contrast to the lowlands, where the deciduous forest predominated.
Since the regional reform that came into force on March 1, 1974, the previously independent municipality of Bramstedt has been one of 16 localities in the city of Bassum.

- The bell tower with prayer bell was rebuilt in the mid-1980s, almost faithfully, based on historical models. In 1871 the tower erected by farmers from Bramstedt in 1450 was destroyed in a fire.
