Broniszowice (German Brünschwitz ) is a village of the urban and rural municipality Otmuchów in the powiat Nyski in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland.

Geographical location

The street village of Broniszowice is located in the southwest of the historical region of Upper Silesia . The place is about five kilometers south of the municipality seat Otmuchów , about 17 kilometers southwest of the district town Nysa and about 71 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole .

Broniszowice lies in the Przedgórze Sudeckie ( Sudeten foothills ) within the Przedgórze Paczkowskie ( Patschkauer foothills ). West of the village is the Zajecza Góra ( Hasenbergstrasse ), above which a height of the 240th NN. owns.

In the work Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis from the years 1295-1305, the place is first mentioned as Bronissowicz .

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Brünschwitz and most of Silesia fell to Prussia . During the Seven Years' War Prussian soldiers were stationed on Hasenberg to the west. In 1777 a wooden chapel with a bell tower was built in the village.

In 1809, Württemberg soldiers were stationed on Hasenberg to the west. After the reorganization of the province of Silesia which belonged rural community Brünschwitz from 1816 to district Neisse in the administrative district of Opole . In 1845 there were 22 houses and 142 inhabitants in the village. In 1855 288 people lived in Brünschwitz. In 1865 there were seven farmers, one gardener and eleven cottages in the village . The residents were schooled in Petersheide. In 1874 the Kalkau district was founded, which consisted of the rural communities of Baucke, Brünschwitz, Kalkau, Peterwitz, Schwandorf and Würben and the manor districts of Baucke, Kalkau, Peterwitz, Schwandorf and Würben. In 1885 Brünschwitz had 128 inhabitants.

In 1933 there were 160 people in Brünschwitz and 187 in 1939. Until the end of the war in 1945 the place belonged to the Neisse district .

As a result of the Second World War, Brünschwitz fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . It was subsequently renamed Broniszowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. The German population was largely expelled . In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Nyski . In 2006, 98 people lived in the village.

Attractions

  • The Roman Catholic Chapel of the Motherhood of Mary (Polish Kaplica Macierzyństwa NMP ) was built in the second half of the 19th century.
