Brugg has been an uninhabited cadastral community of Pölla in Lower Austria since January 1st, 1964 . with a base area of 157.41 hectares. In order to be able to create the Döllersheim military training area , the residents were evacuated from 1938 onwards .

history

Brugg was on slightly undulating terrain.

Brugg was first mentioned in a document when Albert von Pruk , who lived in Weitra , sold properties in Böhmsdorf and Wurmbrand to Zwettl Abbey in 1289 . Brugg itself belonged to the rule of Ottenstein .

The chapel, described by the Austrian art topography as modern and belonging to the parish Döllersheim, had a bell cast by JG Jenichen in Krems an der Donau in 1823 , which came from the parish church of Döllersheim.

From 1652 the parish Döllersheim kept the church records for births and from 1654 also those for marriages and deaths. With the abolition of the Döllersheim parish, these were taken over by the parish in Rastenfeld for safekeeping.

In order to be able to set up the Döllersheim military training area, the people of Brugg were given by the National Socialist rulers until April 1, 1940, to leave the town, which consisted of 12 houses. However, this date was extended to October 31, 1941.

The Windhag Scholarship Foundation of Lower Austria demolished as a land owner, the empty building and the area thus obtained after the Second World War reforestation .
