The Burgstall Schlossbühl is an abandoned hilltop castle 60 meters above the valley of the Rauchgrundbach in the Yach- Hinterzinken district of the city of Elzach in the Emmendingen district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

From 1148 on, the noble family "von der Eiche" can be identified in Yach. In the second half of the 13th century the barons von Schwarzenberg owned the fief Yach, which they passed on.

description

The castle site consists of two tower mounds, the west of which is seven meters high and the east five meters, and a 20-meter-long open space between the two. The entire castle complex was around 80 meters long. In the north or west of the Schlossbühl an old route can still be seen, which ends in the no longer too pronounced neck ditch in the west . There are no remains of the wall, which is why a wooden castle is assumed.

In Yach-Vorderzinken there is another castle site with the castle stables Schlössle .

legend

According to a legend , a black dog on the Schlossbühl guarded a buried box of gold that had to be left behind by a greedy knight. It comes to the surface on March 6th each year, basking in the sun and jumping around on the mountain.
