Denzlingen Castle

The castle Denzlingen , including Castle Maurach called, is a suspected Outbound Spur castle in the town of Denzlingen in the district of Emmendingen in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle is said to be at the site of the Severinskapelle on the eastern spur of the Mauracher Berg at around 250  m above sea level Have found NN .

It was assumed that it was built in the 12th century. Existing trenches were interpreted as an indication of a former high medieval castle, but the existence of such a complex is now considered unlikely.

The European Castle Institute suspects an Ottonian weir system with an east-west extension of almost 300 meters.
