During excavations in 1979 and 1980 on the hill south of the Kiechlinsbergen Castle , foundations of a medieval castle were found .
Presumably it is the foundation of a hill castle belonging to the local village nobility of Messrs . Küchlin . They exercised jurisdiction in Kiechlinsbergen in the name of the Andlau monastery as sub- governors of the Üsenberger , then as governors of the place.
