Canadian Motor Syndicate was a Canadian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

William J. Still made an electric car for patent attorney Frederick Barnard Fetherstonhaugh as early as 1893 , which was named after its buyer. In 1897, Still and partners founded the company in Toronto . The brand name was Canadian Motor Syndicate . Production ended in 1899.

Still then founded the Still Motor Company and continued production under its own brand name.

Three models have survived. One was a three-wheeled delivery van with a single front wheel and an electric motor . An electric car had a single rear wheel and a wicker seat between the front wheels, so it was a tricar . Another vehicle had a gasoline engine with 6  hp and the seating arrangement dos-à-dos .
