Gilson Manufacturing Co. was a Canadian company.

Company history

The company was founded in Guelph in 1850 as a foundry and in the field of mechanical engineering . In 1906 ship engines and stationary engines were added. In 1921 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Gilson . Car production ended in 1921 or 1922. In addition, between 50 and 100 tractors were built .

Car

The company ordered parts for six vehicles. However, only two were completed and a third partially installed. The four-cylinder engine came from Continental , although Gilson was an engine manufacturer himself. The vehicles were bodied as open touring cars .
