Galt Motor Co. was a Canadian manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
Moffat St. Claire and Eddy Fleming, who previously worked for Canadian Motors , took over the remainder of the company in 1913 and founded Galt Motor in Galt . They continued the production of automobiles. The brand name was still Galt . Production ended in 1914. A total of twelve vehicles were built.
vehicles
The first ten vehicles corresponded to the previous models and were assembled from existing parts.
In 1914 a new model appeared. It had a two-cylinder two - stroke engine and an additional electric motor , so it was an early hybrid electric vehicle . The battery alone enabled a range of 24 to 32 kilometers. The open body in the form of a touring car corresponded to the previous models. One of the two vehicles produced was scrapped after a short time. The other was used by St. Claire until 1927 and was fitted with a new coupé body in 1941 .
