Chimo (car brand)
Chimo was a Canadian car brand.
Brand history
Customotive Inc. from St. Laurent in Québec began producing automobiles in 1980. The brand name was Chimo . In 1985 the company moved to Ottawa , Ontario . From 1985 to about 1988, Image Inc. from Smiths Falls , Ontario continued production.
vehicles
The only model was a coupe . One source sees a similarity to the Jaguar XJ-S . The body was made of fiberglass , which was unique in Canada at the time. A chassis from the VW Beetle formed the basis. Various engines from Volkswagen , V6 engines from Ford and Wankel engines from Mazda powered the vehicles.
