Nova Scotia Carriage & Motor Car Co. , previously Nova Scotia Carriage Co. , was a Canadian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company Nova Scotia Carriage Co. in 1868 in Kentville to coach manufacturing founded. In 1910 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was McKay . There was also a collaboration with the Penn Motor Car Company from the USA , which had to give up in 1912 or 1913. Planning amounted to 1000 vehicles annually. In 1912 the company moved to Amherst and was now called Nova Scotia Carriage & Motor Car Co. In 1914 production ended. A total of around 25 vehicles were built in Kentville and 190 or 200 vehicles in Amherst.

The first model 30 had a four-cylinder engine from Buda Engine Co. It developed 30  hp from a displacement of 3500 cc . A larger model followed, which had a 40 hp engine.
