Kennedy Manufacturing Co. was a Canadian manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
Vehicle salesman William Kennedy and the Clare brothers founded the company in Preston in 1909 and began manufacturing automobiles. The brand name was Kennedy . After a year, the previous chief engineer Herb Hambrecht replaced Wiliam Kennedy. Production ended in 1910. A total of around 75 vehicles were built in the first year and 100 in the second.
vehicles
The vehicles were high wheelers . Engine and other parts came from De Tamble Motor Company . A two-cylinder engine with 18 hp power drove the rear wheels via a planetary gear and a cardan shaft .
In 1910 the wheels were reduced in size and at the same time converted to pneumatic tires .
Two sources state that no money was invested in developing a much-needed four-cylinder engine . On the other hand, the two-cylinder engine was also bought.
