Christian Löber (actor)

Christian Löber (born April 13, 1983 in Wolfhagen ) is a German actor .

Life

Christian Löber grew up near Kassel . From 1999 to 2003 he trained as an industrial mechanic and then worked in the automotive industry. This was followed by the technical diploma , from 2004 to 2008 a degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Kassel , which he obtained as a Dipl.-Ing. completed. He then studied until 2012 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . During his studies he was at the Deutsches Theater , the Hans Otto Theater Potsdam and the Berliner Ensemble , here as "Jack the Ripper" in "Lulu" (director: Robert Wilson) . In 2011 he received the Vontobel Prize with the ensemble of the bat studio theater production “Helden” (director: Roscha A. Säidow) at the 22nd theater meeting of German-speaking drama schools as well as for his “Leonce” in “Leonce and Lena” (director: Alexander Lang ) the “Outstanding Acting Award” at the GATS in Beijing.

Christian Löber has been a member of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele since 2012 . He has been a lecturer at the affiliated drama school since 2015. At the Kammerspiele he worked with Johan Simons , Ivo van Hove , Stephan Kimmig , Martin Kušej , Sebastian Nübling , Stefan Pucher , Simon Stone , Nicolas Stemann , Toshiki Okada , She She Pop , and Susanne Kennedy . He works continuously with Susanne Kennedy, the two productions “Purgatory in Ingolstadt” (role: Roelle) and “Why is Mr. R. Amok running?” Were invited to the Theatertreffen in Berlin in 2014 and 2015. He was also seen in works by Kennedy at the Volksbühne Berlin . Furthermore, Christian Löber received the sponsorship award of the association for the promotion of the Münchner Kammerspiele in 2015. In “Drumming in the Night” (director: Christopher Rüping ) he was seen as “Andres Kragler” returning from the war. In 2018, the production was invited to the Theatertreffen in Berlin and guest performances in Taipei, Beijing and St. Petersburg followed. In 2018 he played the title role “Macbeth” in the production of the same name by director Amir Reza Koohestani.

He stands in front of the camera for various film and television productions and also acts as a speaker in radio plays. In 2016 he won the German Radio Play Award for the best acting performance in the WDR production "Outside under the open sky."
