Christ the King's Church (Graz)
The Christkönigskirche is a Roman Catholic church in the 15th district of Wetzelsdorf in Graz . It is the parish church of the Graz-Christkönig parish in the Graz-West deanery of the City Church of Graz .
History and design
The church building was built from 1957 to 1959 according to the plans of Karl Lebwohl and consecrated to the patronage of Christ the King in 1959 . In addition to the rectangular building, which has a gable roof, a parish center with a parsonage and parsonage and a kindergarten were built. The parish center was thus one of the first generous pastoral care offices in the city of Graz to emerge in the post-war period . The 14 stained glass windows in the interior are from the artist Albert Birkle . There is also a mosaic picture made of Murano glass stones and a cross by Hubert Tuttner inside the sacred building. In 2000 there was a liturgical reorganization within the Christ the King's Church.
