History and design

According to a decree of Emperor Charles VI. a princely poor house was built in 1724, which today houses the municipal old people's home. Originally there was a Meierhof at this point, which had been converted for this purpose. The baroque church building, which is located in the building complex, was built in 1728–1731.

The church was badly damaged in a bombing raid in 1944 that dropped a bomb through the roof just in front of the high altar. In the home itself, the attack caused a bloodbath among the inmates. After the Second World War , the old people's home church was rebuilt and handed over to its purpose as a place of worship in 1949.

A single-storey roof turret is built on the simple hall space . In the interior there is a baroque statue of the representation of the Immaculate Conception (Immaculata) and on the high altar the figures of the two saints Florian and George , as well as a representation of the Trinity. In the middle is a neo-Gothic Madonna. The statue of Immaculata was originally located on the Trinity Column that used to stand at the end of Sackstrasse on the main square and is now on Karmeliterplatz.

The church is a listed building .
