Christ the King Church

The Christ the King's Church in Raach is a small Roman Catholic church in the 13th district of Gösting in  Graz . As a branch church it belongs to the parish Graz-Gösting (parish church St. Anna) in the dean's office Graz-Nord of the city church Graz .

History and design

The Raach settlement is located in the extreme north-west of Graz. Immediately after the Second World War, a pastoral care center was set up in a barrack emergency church . Only in 1964 was this replaced by a brick church building. The design came from the architect Hermann Worschitz. The simple building has a bell tower, a simple hall with an open roof structure and a late Baroque sandstone statue of the Virgin in an ear dress, which came from the "Siebenbründl Column" erected in 1757. The bronze crucifix was created by the artist Alexander Silveri .
