West elevation with cemetery

The center of the village is dominated by the parish church of St. Veit, which gave the former name of Gabriach (from the Slavonic word 'white beech'). The parish church was first mentioned in a document in 1226. At the beginning of the 17th century there was probably a new Gothic building on site, with a rood screen, sacrament house and winged altar, as well as the carved Vespers picture  (around 1510/1515) that is now in the pilgrimage church Ulrichsbrunn is located in Andritz, could come from this church.

In 1657 the church was built in today's Renaissance form and consecrated in 1662. It was designed by the Italian master builder Domenico Sciassia , who also built the Mariazell basilica . In 1680 the baroque high altar was built by Hans Adam Weißenkirchner (1646–1695). The imposing church tower was built in 1713 and renovated in 1951. The church was last renovated in 1972 and 2004 on the outside and in 1976 and 1999 on the inside. In 1996 new bells were installed. The organ was built in 1981 by the Graz organ building workshop Krenn. In 2008 it was revised by Walter Vonbank (Triebendorf / Murau).

A striking archway connects the rectory and the parish church as a covered passage across the street.
