Christoph Zimmermann (born January 12, 1993 in Düsseldorf ) is a German football player . He has been under contract with Norwich City since 2017 .

Club career

Christoph Zimmermann began his career in the youth of SC Düsseldorf-West . At the age of 13 he switched to the youth department of Borussia Mönchengladbach . From 2012 he was part of Gladbach's second team that played in the Regionalliga West . For the 2014/15 season he moved to Borussia Dortmund II . On July 26, 2014 in the away win at FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt (2-1), he made his first brief appearance in the third division in the 90th minute . At the end of the season he had completed 27 third division appearances, the BVB reserve was relegated to the regional league. As a regular in the defense, he also played for Dortmund in the Regionalliga West for the next two years.

In June 2017 Zimmermann moved to the second division Norwich City in England. He followed his Dortmund coach Daniel Farke . In the 2018/19 season he celebrated the second division championship with Norwich and rose to the Premier League .
