Colin Forbes (born February 16, 1976 in New Westminster , British Columbia ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who played 324 games for the Philadelphia Flyers , Tampa Bay Lightning , Ottawa Senators , New York Rangers between 1994 and 2011 and Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League on the position of striker . In addition, Forbes was active in the German Ice Hockey League for Adler Mannheim and ERC Ingolstadt for five years .
Career
Forbes was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1994 as 166th by the Philadelphia Flyers and completed his first three NHL games in the 1996/97 season . Until 1999, the Canadian played alternately with the Flyers and their farm team Philadelphia Phantoms in the American Hockey League , without being able to prevail in the NHL.
That changed when he switched to the Tampa Bay Lightning . Here, like a year later with the Ottawa Senators , Forbes was one of the permanent staff in the best ice hockey league in the world. After a brief stint with the New York Rangers during the 2000/01 season , the left shooter moved to the Washington Capitals . Here, unlike his previous teams, he couldn't make his breakthrough and so he spent most of his time with farm teams in the AHL. With the Hershey Bears he won the Calder Cup final . Forbes then moved to Germany to the Adler Mannheim , with whom he won the German championship and the German ice hockey cup in 2007 . In Mannheim he was under contract until 2010. Then he played at ERC Ingolstadt . Forbes retired in 2011.
