Corridonia ( Curidògnia in the local dialect) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 15,154 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Macerata in the Marche . The community, which used to be called Montolmo or Pausula (also: Pausola ), got its name in 1931 from Filippo Corridoni , an intellectual and revolutionary of the early 20th century who was killed in the First World War . Corridonia has been called Città (City) since 1973 . The Chienti flows north of the municipality , so the municipality is also part of the Valle del Chienti . The municipality is located about 8 kilometers southeast of Macerata and about 40 kilometers south of Ancona .
