Crescent Beach is a census-designated place (CDP) in St. Johns County in the US state of Florida with 931 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
Crescent Beach is located on the barrier island of the east coast of Anastasia Island between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic . The CDP is about 15 km south of St. Augustine and about 70 km south of Jacksonville and is traversed by Florida State Roads A1A and 206 .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 931 inhabitants were distributed over 1663 households, most of which are holiday homes used as second homes. The population density was 238.7 inh / km². 97.5% of the population identified themselves as whites, 0.4% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 0.9% as Asian Americans . 0.4% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 0.6% to several ethnic groups. 2.4% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 49.8% of all households lived in 10.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 57.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.88 people and the average family size was 2.37 people.
10.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 14.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 22.6% were 40 to 59 years old, and 52.4% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 61 years. 50.2% of the population were male and 49.8% were female.
