Därstetten is a municipality in the Frutigen-Niedersimmental administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .
In addition to the resident community, there is also a civil parish and an evangelical-reformed parish under this name .
geography
Därstetten is located in the Bernese Oberland in the Alps south of the Gantrisch (2176 m above sea level). The Stockhorn (2190 m above sea level) is also on the eastern border of the municipality. The Simme flows through the village. The neighboring communities, starting from the north and clockwise, are Pohlern , Oberstocken , Erlenbach im Simmental , Diemtigen , Oberwil im Simmental , Rüschegg , Rüeggisberg and Blumenstein .

history
Därstetten is first mentioned historically in 1228 as Tarenchat . Via Terstetten (1437) - tärnstetten (1470), the name changes to today's Därstetten.
Attractions
- The Romanesque Protestant church was the monastery church of an Augustinian choir in the 13th century . Few wall paintings from the construction period have survived. Later renovations attempted to adapt the church to the appearance of average Bernese country churches. The tower, for example, dates from 1926.
