Dallas is a plantation in Franklin County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010, 309 people lived there in 462 households on an area of 104.6 km².

According to the United States Census Bureau , Dallas has a total area of 104.6 km², of which 101.0 km² is land and 3.6 km² consists of water .
Geographical location
Dallas is centrally located in Franklin County. The South Branch of the Dead River flows north through the area. It is the outflow of Saddleback Lake and flows into Flagstaff Lake in the area of Town Eustis . To the west are Gull Pond and Haley Pond . The surface is rather flat, but it is bordered to the south and east by higher mountains, including Saddleback Mountain , whose ski area is in the Dallas area.

history
As a plantation, the area was founded in 1845 as Plantations 2 and 3 in the first range and 2 and 3 in the second range of townships , which also included the area of the Rangeley Plantation T3 R1 WBKP , the area of the Sandy River Plantation T3 R1 WBKP and the Town Rangeley T3 R2 WBKP . These multiple plantations were broken up in 1859. The area was reorganized as Getchell Plantation in 1860 and Dallas Plantation in 1870 . The Dallas Plantation was founded on March 5, 1895.
The ski area on Saddleback Mountain has seen a boom in Dallas in recent years, which has also been reflected in the population.
