Darren Aksel Jensen (born May 27, 1960 in Creston , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who played for the Philadelphia Flyers in the National Hockey League in 1985 and 1986 .

Career

He had an excellent junior career with the University of North Dakota team. In the 1980 NHL Entry Draft , the Hartford Whalers selected him in the fifth round as 92nd.

His first stop in the professional field was the Fort Wayne Komets in the IHL . Here he convinced with very strong performances. After he could not agree on a contract with the Whalers, he signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers . In the 1984/85 season he came to only one use and played mostly for the Hershey Bears in the AHL .

Due to the tragic death of Pelle Lindbergh and an injury to Bob Froese, he moved into the Flyers' goal. In his 29 appearances, the Flyers won the ice 15 times. In two games he remained clean. Despite good performance, the Flyers signed Glenn Resch and sent Jensen back to Hershey. As Ron Hextall, a young, strong goalkeeper came into the spotlight at the Flyers , Jensen was not given another chance. In the summer of 1987 he was given to the Vancouver Canucks , for which he was never used.
