David May (born September 9, 1974 in Cham ZG ) is a DJ, songwriter and producer from Zug in Switzerland .

Career

David May began to be interested in music at a young age. He learned to play the piano and later began to deal with the mixer . Since 2000 May has been working under the pseudonym David Prodygee as a producer in his own studio for pop greats such as Laura Branigan , Taylor Dayne and Katrina and the Waves .

As a trance DJ and remixer he works with Dave202 and Dave Joy . His collaboration with house DJ Sir Colin was also very successful . B. on his top 5 album Retro , where they mixed six of the 20 tracks together. He finally had his breakthrough with a contract with the German dance label Kontor Records

In 2009 David May released his first own single. The title Superstar uses the well-known theme from Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve and was a club hit and single chart success especially in Germany and Austria. He also reached the top 10 of the US Billboard dance charts. The official music video has already received over 20 million clicks on YouTube .

At the beginning of 2011 he started a new project together with a few other authors, including Steven Singer, Mike Schumacher and Marc Zibung as permanent members. Together as a team they write, compose, produce, mix and text songs for a number of musicians who are particularly under contract with the record label Kontor Records . The names of the songs produced by the project always contain the abbreviation David May Edit Mix after the title of the song . So far they have written singles for JayKay ( What Them Girls Like , Party Encore and Weekend (Wicked Wow) ), RJ ( U Know It Ain't Love , Baby It's the Last Time and Live 4 Die 4 ) and since a contract with Kontor Records many more.

In April 2013, a remake EP of the successful song Right in the Night by the producer duo Jam & Spoon was released , which contains remixes of numerous European dance projects and DJs. These include Groove Coverage , the Michael Mind Project , G&G, the Bodybangers and a remix by May himself. In addition, he was named together with Amfree as the main interpreter and rose to number 38 in the German single charts in May 2013 with their new version of Right In The Night 2013 . The new version was also sung again by the then singer Plavka.
